Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th-10th. Our theme this year is “Destination Appreciation”. Below is a schedule that allows all our students to honor our teacher and staff in a fun way, together. Please note, as much as we would love for all students to participate in TAW activities, participation is completely optional.

Monday – “Take Off” Bring your teacher a favorite flower/bouquet to enjoy before taking off on a journey around the world.

Tuesday – “In Flight Entertainment” Bring your teacher a handwritten letter or picture to enjoy on the flight.

Wednesday – “First Class Colors” Wear your teacher’s favorite color.

Thursday – “In Flight Snack” Bring a tasty treate for your teacher to enjoy.

Friday – “Baggage Claim” Welcome your teacher home with a special gift or gift card.

Please find your teachers’ favorites lists at phillipspta.org

**TENNIS SHOES (no flip flops/sandals)
**SACK LUNCH AND DRINK (Easily Disposable) Please AVOID meats or mayonnaise as it will be HOT outside

K-5th will eat lunch from 11:00am-12:00 pm. Grade levels will eat lunch with their classes at an area designated by their teachers.

**New This Year – we are having a school picture taken at 11:45 am on the playground. Please be on time for the photo so everyone can get to their next station promptly at 12 pm.

On the morning of Field Day, all volunteers will meet behind the playground at 8:00 am to go over the schedule and plans for the day. You will receive all the information you need at this time. We will also talk about each Field Day station and answer any questions you may have. Please keep in mind you WILL stay with your child and their class for the entire time.

Please bring FILLED water balloons to the GYM ON THE MORNING OF FIELD DAY. Please do not bring them in early or leave in the office. Water balloons will need to be in labeled containers – preferably not cardboard boxes because some balloons will break during transport.
Each grade will only use the balloons donated for that grade level – we will not level out the amounts between grade levels. For example, if 5th grade ends up with 100 balloons, then those 100 balloons will be divided between the 5th grade classes only. The more water balloons we get, the longer the balloon toss will last for that grade level.

For water balloon drop off on Field Day, please take them to the water balloon area on the field by the playground and leave them in your grade’s designated area. If you are unable to do so, please the balloons in the labeled container in the gym. Please make sure the grade level is clearly labeled on every container of water balloons. Remember the balloons must be FILLED in order to be used. Placing a towel in the bottom of the container will ensure less breakage when transporting. It can take up to an hour to fill 50 water balloons so please plan ahead so the balloons will be ready for Field Day.

This year we are asking ONLY for cases of small water bottles to be donated. We are hoping to get enough for 2 bottles per student. Please bring any water donations to the office or gym.
